3. a) Read the story about a household disaster and answer the questions in your exercise book. Story: In most families mothers take care of housework. Our family is the same. So, before Mother’s Day we decided to make a surprise for our mother and clean up the house ourselves. We started in the morning. I had to make the beds and my sister Vera had to pick up the toys all over the house. But while I was doing my chore, Vera was making a mess in the dining room. She took some board games, an iron, two chairs and a bucket with water and was playing house. When I came into the room and saw what she was doing, I got really angry. We were fighting when suddenly our mum came back from work. Vera panicked and started picking up the toys, but when she moved the chair, the iron fell down on her foot. She jumped in pain and hit the bucket, and the water flooded the floor. Guess what’s happening now? Vera is lying in bed eating ice cream and I’m mopping the floor! Life isn’t fair! 1. When did the disaster happen? 2. What did the children want to do?
