The Radziwills welcomed immediately when their guests arrived. Servants usually took them to a room with tables covered with fish and roasted meats. The visitors helped themselves to food and light drinks while they were waiting for the host. Later, he took the guests into the grand dining hall. They say this “tasty” waiting started our modern appetizer tradition.
