4. ICT. In groups collect information about different types of climate. Use textbooks, encyclopaedias or the Net. You can use the key words: climate types. Present them to the class.

Climate types:

• Tropical climate: hot temperatures throughout the year; it may be wet or dry.
• Desert climate: very hot and dry, with little rain and large differences between daytime and night-time temperatures.
• Temperate climate: mild temperatures and four distinct seasons.
• Polar climate: extremely cold, with long winters and short, cool summers.
• Tundra climate: very cold all year round, with a short summer and very little vegetation.
• Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters.
