Dear Sir / Madam,

I’m writing because there is a serious traffic problem in my city. Yesterday I took a photo of a traffic jam in the city centre. There were many cars, and the streets were very noisy and polluted.

I think there are possibly three reasons for this. Firstly, there are too many cars because many people drive to work. Secondly, there aren’t enough buses, so public transport is often crowded and inconvenient. Finally, not many people use bicycles because there aren’t enough safe cycle lanes. The city should provide more buses and build cycle lanes. People should also use their cars less and travel by bus or bicycle.

We must definitely do something about this situation. Better public transport and more cycle lanes will make the city cleaner, safer and less crowded.
