4b. How well does the speaker do these things: very well, OK or needs to improve?

Evaluating Speaker Performance:

This section requires the listener to evaluate a speaker based on a provided list of criteria. The evaluation should be one of the following for each point:

• Welcomes the audience: very well / OK / needs to improve
• Tells what he/ she is going to talk about: very well / OK / needs to improve
• Speaks slowly and clearly: very well / OK / needs to improve
• Sounds interested in what he/ she is saying: very well / OK / needs to improve
• Tries to build a relationship with the audience: very well / OK / needs to improve
• Chooses vocabulary that the audience will know, and explains any difficult words: very well / OK / needs to improve
• Uses correct language (grammar and vocabulary): very well / OK / needs to improve
• Looks at everyone in the group: very well / OK / needs to improve

Note: The judgment for each point depends on the actual observation of the speaker during their talk.
