Portfolio Task: Food Chain Project
Objective: To create and present a food chain, demonstrating understanding of ecological relationships.
This task requires you to visually represent a food chain. You will need to:
- 1. Design a Food Chain: Choose a series of organisms where each is eaten by the next in the chain. This typically starts with a producer (like a plant), followed by a primary consumer (herbivore), a secondary consumer (carnivore or omnivore), and potentially a tertiary consumer.
- 2. Create a Diagram: Draw the food chain, using arrows to show the flow of energy from one organism to the next.
- 3. Add Pictures: Include illustrations or images of each organism in your food chain.
- 4. Include Labels: Clearly label each organism with its name and its role in the food chain (e.g., producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer).
- 5. Present to the Class: Be prepared to explain your food chain to your classmates, detailing the relationships between the organisms.
Example Structure:
Sun → Grass (Producer) → Grasshopper (Primary Consumer) → Frog (Secondary Consumer) → Snake (Tertiary Consumer)
