A thousand years ago, my area was inhabited by local tribes and traders who came from nearby regions. They arrived about a thousand years ago and settled near the river, where there was water and fertile land. They built small villages, grew crops, kept animals and traded with other people. They ate bread, porridge, vegetables, fruit, fish and meat. They wore simple clothes made of wool, linen and animal skins. They left behind the remains of houses, tools, pottery, weapons and jewellery.
