5. The long hand points to 6, so it is 30 minutes past; the short hand is between 6 and 7: 6:30 (half past six).

6. The long hand points to 6 and the short hand is between 7 and 8: 7:30 (half past seven).

7. The long hand points to 3, so it is 15 minutes past; the short hand is just past 2: 2:15 (quarter past two).

8. The long hand points to 9, so it is 45 minutes past; the short hand is between 8 and 9: 8:45 (quarter to nine).
