The Queen and the Royal Family were symbols of Great Britain and part of British history and culture. The Queen had four children three sons and a daughter. Her oldest son Charles was officially proclaimed Charles III King of the United Kingdom. Now the Queen's grandson Prince William is the next in line to the throne. He is married to Catherine (Kate) Middleton. They are now the Prince and Princess of Wales. In 2013 their first child Prince George was born.
