Exercise 1. Past Simple

Let's practice the Past Simple! This tense is used to talk about actions that happened and finished in the past. Remember, for regular verbs, we add '-ed' to the base form. For irregular verbs, we need to know their special past tense forms.

1. I (to do) morning exercises.

• Affirmative: I did morning exercises.
• Negative: I did not do (or didn't do) morning exercises.
• Interrogative: Did I do morning exercises?

2. He (to work) at a factory.

• Affirmative: He worked at a factory.
• Negative: He did not work (or didn't work) at a factory.
• Interrogative: Did he work at a factory?

3. Mike .................. (play) soccer last Sunday.

• Affirmative: Mike played soccer last Sunday.
• Negative: Mike did not play (or didn't play) soccer last Sunday.
• Interrogative: Did Mike play soccer last Sunday?

4. My little sister.................(cry) last night.

• Affirmative: My little sister cried last night.
