Past Simple.

Xavier had a very bad morning. He didn’t get up when he heard his alarm, so he didn’t have time for a shower. After breakfast, he didn’t put his gym clothes in his school bag, so he didn’t play basketball — his favorite thing on Wednesday. Normally, he was good at maths, but he didn’t understand the maths lesson at all. At lunchtime, he didn’t eat any lunch because he felt ill, and he went home to bed.
