5 a) Read about the reflexive pronouns in the box. How do we use them? Find examples in the cartoon strip.

Reflexive pronouns are used when the subject and object of a sentence are the same person or thing. They end in '-self' (singular) or '-selves' (plural).

Examples from the cartoon strip:

In panel 5, the doctor says: "Hmm... You've hurt yourself quite badly, young man!". Here, 'yourself' refers back to the 'young man' who is the object of the action 'hurt'.

The text mentions: "We use reflexive pronouns ... when the subject and object are the same". This rule is exemplified by the doctor's statement.

Another potential instance, though not explicitly a reflexive pronoun, is implied in the overall context of accidents happening to individuals, where the person is the direct recipient of the action (injury).
