Part 3: Grammar – Present Simple vs Present Continuous

Используем Present Simple для регулярных действий и привычек, а Present Continuous – для действий, происходящих в данный момент.

1. He travels to New York every year. (Present Simple, так как действие происходит каждый год – регулярно).


2. Look! That man is waving the American flag. (Present Continuous, так как действие происходит прямо сейчас, на него обращают внимание – «Смотри!»).


3. Americans celebrate Independence Day every July. (Present Simple, так как это ежегодное событие – регулярно).


4. I am not watching TV at the moment, I'm reading about California. (Present Continuous, так как действие «не смотрю» происходит в данный момент – «at the moment»).


5. Do they visit museums every weekend? (Present Simple, так как действие происходит каждые выходные – регулярно).


6. Listen! The guide is speaking about the history of the USA. (Present Continuous, так как действие происходит прямо сейчас – «Слушай!»).
