Practical work: "Study of the structure of unicellular (mucor) and multicellular (penicillin) mold fungi"

Objective:

To familiarize with the structure of mold fungi mucor and penicillin.

Equipment:

• mucor and penicillin culture
• dissecting needles
• pipettes
• microscope slides and coverslips
• microscope
• prepared slides of mucor and penicillin

Procedure:

1. Prepare a microscopic specimen using laboratory equipment.
2. Adjust the microscope for work.
3. Examine the external structure of mucor and penicillin fungi. Find spore heads (sporangia, conidia) and mycelium.
4. Examine prepared slides under low and high magnification.
5. Draw the external appearance of mucor and penicillin, label (sporangia, conidia, sporangiophores and conidiophores, mycelium, spores).
