Pupil card 1

Here's some information about schools in my country that you can use in our conversation:

  • I'm in Form 3W.
  • Many schools in the USA have summer classes.
  • I go to Manchester Grammar School.
  • All the pupils at our school have their own lockers.
  • At 9 I go to a Sunday school.
  • I get to school by a school bus.
  • I'm a freshman.
  • We are on a half-term.
  • At the end of the term our school sends report cards to parents.

Let me explain what some of these mean in Russian:
Form 3W means I'm in the third grade of secondary school, similar to класс in Russia.
Summer classes are extra classes during the summer, like летняя школа.
Manchester Grammar School is the name of my school.
Own lockers means each student has their personal storage space.
Sunday school is like a religious class on Sundays.
School bus is a bus that takes children to school, like школьный автобус.
Freshman means I'm a first-year student in high school or college.
Half-term is a short holiday in the middle of a school term.
Report cards are like дневники, showing our grades and comments to parents.
