- What's your idea of Russian food? Is it different from the British one? What do you have for breakfast/lunch and dinner? Russian food often includes blini (pancakes), borscht (beetroot soup), pelmeni (dumplings), and pirozhki (small pies). It is different from British food in its ingredients and preparation methods. For breakfast, Russians might have kasha (porridge) or syrniki (cheese pancakes). Lunch is often the main meal, similar to a British dinner, and dinner can be lighter.
