Everyone would agree that being a police officer is a very responsible job, and it is important to catch people who behave in irregular ways. But it isn't always easy to find the person who has committed a crime, and sometimes the police make mistakes. Sometimes officers are impatient to find the criminal who has committed a terrible crime and sometimes they act too quickly because they are worried the public will be displeased if they don't catch someone quickly. Individual officers can sometimes act in improper ways too, and believe someone is guilty just because they don't like them. The way to do good police work is always to follow all the clues in a logical way, even if they seem small and unimportant. The results that this leads to may sometimes be unpleasant, but hopefully, they will be correct.
