When storm chasers hear about tornadoes, they try to get near them. Some storm chasers do this as a hobby. Others do it because they are scientists and engineers. It's part of their research. They use weather probes to study tornadoes. Weather probes measure the wind and give scientists important information about storms. Tornadoes are extremely powerful storms, so storm chasers have very dangerous jobs.
