It includes biographies, essays, memoirs, reports, etc. It provides information and opinions on different topics and can be objective or sometimes subjective. Nowadays non-fiction writers use some literary tools of fiction to make their books more exciting to read. It's called creative nonfiction. B) Books about solving crimes became popular in Victorian times. Edgar Allan Poe is considered a founder of the modern genre, although there were detective stories even in ancient times. A lot of characters became reader's favourites, for example, Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. The so-called golden age of detective fiction was the beginning of the XX century.
