She couldn't see, but when she was ten, she learned to swim. She first swam for the USA at the Paralympic Games in 1980. 1980 and in her career, she won a total of 55 medals. No Paralympic athlete has got more medals than that! However, she isn't just a swimmer. She went on to be a teacher and worked with special children. Then, a number of years later, she went to college and studied law. Today, she is working as a lawyer. She is an amazing person.
