Did you see the new Swedish drama The Black Rock on Channel 6 last night? If not, then you absolutely must watch it when it’s repeated. It was a spectacular example of Scandinavian film-making at its very best, and I’m sure it will win a lot of awards next year. I was impressed from the beginning and simply couldn’t stop watching — even to answer the phone! The story is imaginative, without being too complicated. The characters are very clever and well-developed. The scenes are simply conventional — they’re set in a music festival. I’m not going to say any more! Actor Stieg Martinsson plays a detective who has to find the two murderers. He is an unlikely marriage and his children. I should warn viewers that there is some violence in the drama, but it isn’t excessive. You can see the second part of the series next Thursday. Don’t miss it! It’s a possibility to stop watching once you start!
