What are Russian schools like? Here's an e-mail to the Spotlight on Russia website

Russian schools have primary, secondary and senior levels. There are different teachers for each subject in secondary and senior school. The school year is from September 1st to the end of May with three short holidays and a three-month summer holiday. Lessons are from about 8:30 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday. All students study Russian, history, maths and literature. Some schools have a uniform, others don't.
