What is ISS?
The International Space Station (ISS) is a modular space station in low Earth orbit. It is a multinational collaborative project involving five participating space agencies: NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada).
Key Components and Functions:
- Radiators: These send extra heat into space to regulate the station's temperature.
- Modules: These are the living and working quarters for astronauts.
- Robotic Arm: Used to move supplies and equipment around the station.
- Panels: Solar panels that convert sunlight into electricity to power the station.
- Spacecraft: These transport astronauts and supplies to the ISS and connect to a port.
