In 1621, at the end of their first year in America, the Pilgrims held a feast to celebrate a successful harvest.
Some of the Wampanoag joined them.
This feast is sometimes referred to as the "First Thanksgiving."
The feast of 1621 lasted for three days.
The Pilgrims and the Wampanoag ate different birds (like duck and goose), deer, seafood (like mussels and clams), pumpkins, squash, nuts, and berries. They did not have potatoes.
