The Missing Map

When Harry, Ron and Hermione found an old map in the library, they noticed that one corridor was not shown on the Marauder’s Map. Curious, they decided to investigate after dinner.

The corridor led to a small room with a locked wooden chest. Hermione carefully opened it with a spell, and inside they found a map of Hogwarts that showed secret passages no one knew about. Suddenly, the castle began to shake. The map was protecting the school from an ancient spell, and removing it had awakened the magic.

Harry quickly placed the map back in the chest while Ron held the door shut. Hermione read the counter-spell, and the shaking stopped. They agreed never to tell anyone about the room. From that day on, they used the map only to help students who were lost—not to break the rules.
