I had always dreamed of visiting this city, and it was even more beautiful than I expected. On the first day we visited the Hermitage Museum. It is one of the largest museums in the world. We walked through endless halls full of paintings, sculptures, and historical objects. I especially liked the works of Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci. Our guide told us that if you spent just one minute looking at each exhibit, it would take more than ten years to see everything! The next day we went on a boat trip along the rivers and canals. St. Petersburg is sometimes called "the Venice of the North" because of its many bridges and waterways. From the boat we saw palaces, cathedrals, and monuments. The city looked fantastic in the evening light. On the last day we visited Peterhof, the famous palace and park near the city. The fountains there are wonderful, especially the Grand Cascade. I took so many photos! I also bought some postcards for my friends. The trip was unforgettable.
