To be excited about, to do the gardening, to decorate the streets, to celebrate New Year’s Day, to exchange gifts, to watch a firework display, to have a good time.
To do the shopping, to make tea, to make the decorations, to make a dish, to do the dusting, to make a phone call, to do the washing up, to make a speech, to make a report, to do homework.
а) We always celebrate mum’s birthday. It is in October, in autumn. I decorate our flat. My granny bakes a pie and makes a special dish. My twin brothers make colourful decorations. We dress up, buy roses and sing her favourite song.
b) The teenage sport games take place in our town every spring. The best young athletes take part in them. Boys and girls compete in running and jumping. At the same time, some students take part in dancing and singing competitions.
- Liza, I’m hearing some noise. Are you busy right now?
- We are having en English festival. We are all wearing costumes, we’re dancing and sing.
- What are you doing now? Are you dancing?
- I’m eating an apple pie with pleasure. Come and join us.
- I’d love to. I’m coming in ten minutes. I really like an apple pie. Let’s play some English games and after that I’ll help you to clean up your place.
