Moscow and St Petersburg are the most important cities of Russia. They stand on the banks of two rivers – the Moskva and the Neva. The two cities have a lot of places of interest, theatres, museums and picture galleries. In their streets and squares, there are a lot of beautiful buildings. They have some wonderful green parks. There is a famous monument to Peter the Great on a horse in St Petersburg. And there is a well-known sculptural group "Worker and Kolkhoz Woman" in Moscow. Speaking about the theatres, the Bolshoi Theatre is in Moscow and Mariinsky Theatre is in St Petersburg. There is The Russian Museum and The Hermitage in St Petersburg and The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. The famous Nevsky Prospekt is the longest street in St Petersburg. There are famous cathedrals (Kazan Cathedral) and museums (The Russian Museum) on it. Palace Square is located near The Hermitage and it has a tall column in the centre of it. The Summer Garden is also worth seeing in St Petersburg. Everybody in Moscow knows the famous buildings and monuments situated in Red Square, the most important square of the city: St Basil's Cathedral, the History Museum, and the Kremlin. You can even listen to the Kremlin Clock there. Gorky Park is also worth seeing in Moscow.
