I. What new information have you learnt about basketball and lawn tennis?

Basketball appeared at the end of the nineteenth century and was introduced by James Naismith. Originally, teams consisted of nine players. Nowadays, there are five players in a team. Lawn tennis is a newer game based on court tennis, which came to Europe from Egypt or Persia about 2500 years ago. Walter Wingfield introduced lawn tennis as a new game in December 1837.
