2. Workers eventually realized that the 15-month-old octopus was only lonely and wanted a mate. One of the employees carried Sid to the sea in a bucket. On the way to the water he made one last desperate attempt at escaping by lifting the lid of the bucket. Shortly after, he jumped into the sea and swam away to freedom.
