Project work
Find some information about a person who went down in history. Think of how to present it to the class in the most interesting way. Give your presentation. Remember that it shouldn't exceed 5–7 minutes. Decide whose presentation is the best and explain why. (Найди информацию о человеке, который вошел в историю. Подумай, как представить ее классу наиболее интересным способом. Проведи свою презентацию. Помни, что она не должна превышать 5–7 минут. Реши, чья презентация лучшая, и объясни почему.)

Summing up the topic
You’ve just finished working on Unit 2. Think of it and say: (Ты только что закончил работать над Разделом 2. Подумай и скажи:)
what new facts you learned; (какие новые факты ты узнал;)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI learned that Thomas More was executed for opposing the King's divorce, and that the word "utopia" means "nowhere land" in Greek. I also learned about the Cuban Missile Crisis and the historic decision made by President Kennedy.
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналwhat conclusions you made; (какие выводы ты сделал;)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI concluded that power and integrity often contradict each other, as shown by Thomas More's fate, and that laws are the foundation for any organized society. I also concluded that terrorism is a global problem that requires international cooperation to unite against it.
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналwhich of the texts you found more informative and interesting; (какие из текстов ты нашел более информативными и интересными;)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI found the text "An Ideal Society" (Utopia) most interesting because it explored concepts of class distinction and private property. The analysis of the poem "O Captain! My Captain!" was very informative because it connected literature to a major historic event (Lincoln's assassination).
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналwhat you practised doing in English (consider: reading, writing, speaking, listening and use of English); (что ты практиковал в английском (учитывай: чтение, письмо, говорение, аудирование и использование английского);)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI practised reading complex non-fiction texts (e.g., Peter the Great), writing a personal letter following strict rules, speaking about politicians and social issues, and improving my use of English (especially verb tenses and the words join/unite).
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналwhere you can see your progress in English; (где ты видишь свой прогресс в английском;)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI see progress in my ability to discuss abstract concepts like policy and politics. I also improved in using non-sexist language (e.g., using their instead of his).
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналwhat problems you still have and how you are going to work on them; (какие проблемы у тебя остались и как ты собираешься над ними работать;)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI still have problems with phrasal verbs (e.g., cut down on). I am going to work on them by making short stories that include several new phrasal verbs in context every week.
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналhow you can use the new material in the future; (как ты можешь использовать новый материал в будущем;)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI can use the vocabulary about civil rights (e.g., right to vote, right to equality) and government functions (e.g., forms the budget, promotes justice) in social studies or debate classes.
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналwhich things you enjoyed doing mostly and least of all. (что тебе понравилось делать больше всего, а что меньше всего.)
Добавить текст Вернуть оригиналI enjoyed preparing the project presentation (on the Printing Press from Unit 1) the most because it was creative. I enjoyed practising the confused words (e.g., historic/historical) and writing the letters the least because the rules were very strict.
